“All grown-ups were once children... but only few of them remember it.”
― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince
Henning has the amazing ability to combine flawless craft with the low-fi imperfection of real life. In the case of Pampers, he was able to capture the authentic ups and downs of parents and babies without ever being cliché. His humility and empathy on shoots set everyone at ease. Tris Gates

About

I've been working with babies and children for a long time now. Long enough to know that the moment you think you're in control, a two-year-old will prove you wrong — and that's exactly why I love it.

Clients like Pampers, Huggies, Nestlé, Audi, Danone, Milupa, Ferrero and Roche have trusted me with their stories over the years, and various festivals have recognized that work with awards. In the past three years alone I've been in casting sessions with nearly 1,000 babies and their families — across Italy, Spain, France, South Africa, England, Russia, Greece, Lebanon, Mexico, Germany, Romania, Switzerland, Argentina, Chile and New Zealand.

I came to this through music, through studying people and graphic design. I've shot athletes for Nike, traveled the world for Cisco, filmed Formula 1 cars. Good work, all of it. But children are where I found my real footing.

There's something about their honesty that keeps me honest. I often operate the camera myself, I edit my own work, and I've learned to stay calm and focused in the middle of complete and beautiful chaos.

I'm aware that parents are handing me something precious when they walk onto a set. I don't forget that. I just try to do right by it.
